BECOMING A MEMBER
A member or a corporate member of the Institute shall be entitled to receive from the council, a letter of registration of membership for the category of membership applied for after being professional certified either by examination or nomination. Also satisfies the Council that he is eligible to be So registered; and satisfies all other criteria as may be specified by the Council from time to time.

MEMBERSHIP CADRE
Affiliate/Associate membership (acsi):
Conferred on members or non-members that have acquired at least undergraduatel Graduates qualification in related fields with or without any professional background or cognate experience and is enrolling in the institute professional certification program. It is by application only.
Professional membership (mcsi):
Conferred on members or non-members that have acquired at least some level of professional experience or become an Associate member of CISR or have attained strategic height in their professional endeavours. Professional qualifications or its equivalent and some years of cognate experience. Such individuals must have gone through the certification system of the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research, and/or passed professional exams and certified. It is by application only.
Research Fellowship
Innovative research experience, desire to aspire in constant evolution process and result. Building prototypes for content Research Fellowship (rfcsi) This is the highest credential and honour bestowed by the Institute. Conferred on members that have acquired professional experience for 10 -15 years and counting in specialized area of capacity building and research in security development, grooming, mentoring, education, diplomacy, peace and sustainable enterprise. A minimum of 10 individuals per year may be approved and awarded the following after due process of verification, certification and acceptance from the Council of Advisors. It is by application.

Associate Fellowship(afcsi)
This is a research based membership credibility, for institutional leadership, research and mentorship. Criteria for nomination and registration
Distinguished Fellowship (fcsi):
This is the highest credential and honour bestowed by the Institute. Conferred on members and individuals that have acquired professional experience for 15 and above. Criteria for nomination and registration; Doctoral Fellowship (dfcsi) Membership cadre with extensive years of professional experience and contribution to humanity, both as honour and prestige. Doctoral Fellowship (dfcsi)
Membership cadre with extensive years of professional experience and contribution to humanity, both as honour and prestige. It can also accomodate research based component and framework. Honourary Fellowship (fcsi):
A full member or non-member who has distinguished himself in his chosen career and has made a substantial contribution to the promotion of sound, leadership, contribution toward development and capacity with excellence in their respective endeavours. It is either by application or nomination.
Honourary Doctorate Award (Dr.):
Membership cadre with extensive years of professional experience and contribution to humanity, both as honour and prestige This is a partnership framework program, which also serve as doctoral fellowship with investiture basically an induction into the CISR Hall of Fame. It is for the sake of honour, can be research based component or selective component.

- Professional Membership- Cognate experience of less than 10 years and OND/NCE/HND/Bachelors/Masters etc
- Fellowship-Cognate experience of minimum 10 years + OND/NCE/HND/Bachelors/Masters, PhD
- Doctoral Fellowship-Cognate experience and awarding in grounds of expertise and honour + OND/NCE/HND/Bachelors/Masters etc
